The Mexican trust ("fideicomiso") is considered a special vehicle to hold the title of real estate property located within the restricted zone in Mexico. Such contracts can be entered into by foreign individuals or entities.
The only requirement to set up a fideicomiso is obtaining the permit before the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and choosing the fiduciary.
Substitute beneficiaries can be appointed in the fideicomiso in the event of demise of the beneficiary.
The beneficiary is entitled to assign its rights to the property to another foreigner or to a Mexican individual or entity.
